Digitizing
How we set up your
design for embroidery.
Digitizing
means turning a graphic or design into stitch commands for machine
embroidery. We
can digitize your logo from an electronic file, fax or scan and
send you an electronic rendering which includes representation of thread
colors (matched as closely as possible to detected or provided PMS or
Pantone colors*), dimensions and stitch count. Or you can
select a design from our catalog of 1000s of stock
designs and add your business
name or other text.
Either way, stitch
counts drive embroidery pricing.
A rule of thumb for stitch counts:
Cap logos or simple
logos up to 2 inches wide by 1.5 inches high and lettering are usually less than
5000 stitches. Logo sizes up to 2" by 3", approximately 7500 stitches. Logo size 3"
by 3" are around 9000 stitches. Larger or more complex decoration (lots of
lettering, filled backgrounds) may increase stitch count.
THREADS
will provide an electronic rendering of a digitized logo for customer approval,
usually within 3-5 business days. Subsequent changes should only take a day or
two.
Renderings are then subject to customer approval. (A
stitched out sample of a logo is available upon request for a charge of $15 for
up to 6000 stitches and $2 per 1000 stitches above 6000.)
Through
this process, our
Art Department can work with you not only to optimize your stitch count but
ensure you will get a high quality result.

*Colors
will be matched as closely as possible to existing thread colors. Customer
may provide PMS color but is advised that selection of embroidery threads is
limited when compared to number of PMS color choices available. Color
selection will be done using an industry standard thread to PMS conversion chart
to closest available match. Color
matching is not guaranteed. Read full terms
& conditions for all details of art approval and doing business with THREADS.
